Add it to your home screen

FamHQ on your phone,
one tap away.

FamHQ runs in your phone's browser. Add it to your home screen once and it gets its own icon and opens full screen, without the browser bars, just like an app.

Coming sooniPhone and Android apps are on the way. When they arrive, you'll sign in to the same household. Nothing to move.

iPhone and iPad

In Safari

  1. Open FamHQ in Safari and sign in. Then tap ••• next to the address bar.
  2. Tap Share.
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Leave Open as Web App switched on, then tap Add.
  5. FamHQ is on your home screen. Open it from there from now on.

Older iPhone, or a different tab layout? On iOS 18 and earlier, or if Safari's tabs are set to Top or Bottom, there's no ••• step. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow) right away. It's at the bottom on iPhone and at the top right on iPad.

No Add to Home Screen? Scroll to the very bottom of the Share list, tap Edit Actions, and turn it on.

Using Chrome on iPhone? Tap the Share button in the address bar, then Add to Home Screen.

Want notifications? On iPhone and iPad, FamHQ can only send notifications once it's on your home screen. Open it from the icon, then turn them on in FamHQ's Settings.

Android

In Chrome

  1. Open FamHQ in Chrome and sign in. Then tap the ⋮ menu in the top corner.
  2. Tap Add to home screen. On some phones it says Install app.
  3. If Chrome asks how to add it, choose Install, not Create shortcut.
  4. Tap Install to confirm.
  5. FamHQ is on your home screen and in your app list.

See an Install banner? Chrome sometimes offers to install FamHQ at the bottom of the screen. Tapping it does the same thing.

Using another browser? Samsung Internet, Edge and Firefox have a similar option. Look for Add to home screen or Install in the browser's menu.

Computer

Optional, but handy

Chrome or Edge: click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, then Install. FamHQ gets its own window and a spot in your dock or Start menu.

Safari on a Mac: choose File → Add to Dock.

Or just keep it as a bookmark. FamHQ works the same in any browser tab.
